I love to graph as much as possible from SQL Server. Specially since there is so much information in a SQL Server database, ready for graphing!

I use a Perl module named GD:Graph together with IIS to display the graphs on a web server. Great for displaying live data on TV monitors in an office.

Required Software

  • ActiveState ActivePerl for installing on a Windows Server or Perl package on a linux machine.
  • GD:Graph
Examples for usage can be found here, with code samples.
  • Web Server, IIS or Apache
  • Data is then grabbed from systems such as VMWare Vcenter, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and other databases.
